From a theatrical point of view, [George W.] Bush is a bad actor. Although everything in his statements is designed to show strength, nothing in his presentation of self does. He cannot sustain the illusion of intellectual command. He is betrayed by his darting eyes, his misspeaking, his inability to improvise, his pigeon-chested swagger.
